About this project
Plunge Magazine will publish quality short stories, poems, and articles about queer women in a variety of genres from space operas to mysteries, wild west to fairy tales, superheroes to the end of the world.
This Kickstarter campaign is to fund the first year of this ezine (2013). Year One will include two issues, publishing in February and August. Starting in Year Two the ezine will publish quarterly.
The $2000 will cover webhosting fees, token payments to contributors, line editing, and marketing. The full budget break-down is available here. Excess funds will go toward Year Two.
If reading stories about awesome queer women in fairy tales, space ships, old west saloons, hooped-skirt gowns, high tech labs, and pirate ships sounds like something you would enjoy, please contribute some money to the fundraising campaign.

Yes. All writers, no matter their gender or sexual orientations, are welcome to submit to the ezine. Every submission will be treated fairly and equally.

Yes. If the central character or person in the work identifies as a female, that work will be accepted for consideration.

Providing this funding campaign is a success, submissions open in July.

Voting rights for one year. Voters will get to vote on upcoming themes for issues, at least one of the anthology stories, potentially prize recipients, some redesign decisions, and whatever else is put to the community for settling. Note: All rewards are cumulative.

Send me your stories or articles up to 15 pages and I will read through, comment on them, and help you brainstorm past blocks or restructure as needed. Note: This is not an offer to line edit, but rather help with the writing process. I would prefer 7 days per work. Not every story need be sent this year. You may save this to use in 2013 as well.

You may siphon off up to $250 for every $1000 contributed to create a literary prize for ezine-contributors in your name. You may set the prize size, criteria, and when it is offered. Note: Prize will be discontinued when the money set aside for it runs out. So, a $250 prize would be one time for one recipient, while a $50 prize would be five times or for five recipients.

In addition to everything else on this list, I will use my airline miles to fly wherever you live, take you to lunch or dinner, and thank you in person. If you do not live in the United States, I will talk with you to create a perk of equal value. Note: The delivery date on this is arbitrary. I will work out with you when best to visit.
