Radical new bass drum pedal design increases control, speed and power.

In 1909 Ludwig designed the first portable bass drum pedal.  With two exceptions, the basic design has remained unchanged for 103 years.  No one has addressed the control problem that occurs at the spring's lowest tension point.  With our original design, this problem area will be eliminated.  Beater weight and length will no longer be critical to pedal feel, accuracy, speed and volume.  The mechanism will be fully dynamically engaged in all positions and pedal lag will no longer limit speed and accuracy.  With any beater, the Eos pedal will follow the drummer's foot precisely, giving greater control and more accurate performance.  In this way, heavier beaters can be used and subsequently greater volume and dynamic range can be achieved, mic'd or un-mic'd.  We plan to pursue a patent for our design.  A working prototype has been produced.  When we have a production model ready, we will launch an ad campaign in an international drum magazine and secure a celebrity endorser.  Also, early production models will be taken to the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Show and other industry shows. We plan to create a website dedicated to keeping the drum community informed of our innovations and upcoming products along with increasing our customer base.  Production can be accomplished in a machine shop so that product demand can be met easily and quickly, keeping our pedal at a competitive price point.  We plan to produce the Eos pedal at the local machine shop that produced our prototype.  We will purchase standard parts, including tubing, chains, sprockets, springs and beaters from distributors. Assembly will be done in our own workshop.  We feel excited and confident that once the drumming community experiences the superior performance of the Eos pedal, it will become the new industry standard.
