HI-RO is an iconically inspired, portable audio system for the iPod Nano. This modern play on the late "BoomBox" blurs the lines between fashion and technology and dares to bring back the fun, free, overt self expressionism of the 80's.  

It is the modern Boombox: A highly portable, interactive, and flashy piece of art that delivers high quality sound on a lightweight frame. At only 9.3 ounces (weight of iPod Nano included), HI-RO is extremely portable, allowing it to be worn on a necklace or clipped onto a belt or hand held.  Not to mention a battery life that delivers up to 8 hours of continuous play. 

HI-RO's patent-pending design allows for a unique user experience for iPod Nano users, changing the way we interact with and display our music on-the-go.

HI-RO was developed in Brooklyn, NY by Remixed In Brooklyn, Inc., an innovative product design firm that seeks to mesh technology and fashion seamlessly. 

Our objective here is to get you guys to help our team KickStart the production phase of HI-RO so that we can share this awesome fashion/music experience with YOU. 

How it Works:

The iPod Nano locks securly onto the integrated audio jack allowing users to enjoy listening to music thru built-in speakers.  HI-RO has a built-in rechargeable battery with up to 8 hours of continous play and is charged through a mini USB cable included.

Packaging:

The HI-RO gift set comes in a bento box style packaging and will include HI-RO, a removable 36 inch matching necklace, a belt attachment and a mini USB cable.  The iPod Nano is not included with backer rewards.

Progress:

We began Project HI-RO 21 months ago here in Brooklyn, NY.  Starting with hand sketches, 3D models and renderings, we created our first plastic prototypes. After months of tedious tinkering, we developed our final design 3D milled in aluminum and anodized gold.  During that process we also designed, built and tested the electronics and received patent pending and trademark status.

We have an overseas manufacturer on board that specializes in high quality portable mp3 speakers. The factory is an ICI9000 and ICTI certified factory which conducts material, online and random inspections.  We have been working very closely with them to refine the final design.  To date, they have built 4 working prototypes for us which have been tested for sound quality, durablity, and aesthetics.  HI-RO has been completely tested and developed and is now ready for production. 

We have personally invested over $20,000 into making this concept a reality and now we need your support to help get us to the last and final stage - production.  Your contributions will go towards creating the molds for the aluminum case,  obtaining US and International electronics certifications and producing our first minimum run from the factory.

• $45,000 - The first production run in a variety of 6 colors

FAQ'S:

Q.  Is it compatible with all IPod Nanos?  HI-RO is compatible with the iPod Nano 6g

Q.  How long is the battery life?  It has a battery life of up to 8 hours of continous play

Q.  Can my Nano recharge in HI-RO?  No, HI-RO and the Nano are recharged seperately

Q.  How does it charge? A mini USB connection is located on back of the device,  A mini USB cable is included.

Q.  How do you know when it's charged?  The LED indicator light turns on when it is being charged, the light turns off once charging is complete

Q.  Is it durable?  Yes, HI-RO is exteremely durable, it is constructed from high quality injected molded aluminum and has an anodized finish with scratch resistant surface.
