Hey Guys!  I'm Robin, and basically I'm asking for funding for the first big artistic undertaking of my life.  Exciting! 

Okay, so basics: I plan to travel to the UK (on my dime, I've been saving)  and spend a few days experiencing an area (anything that calls to me) and then render that area in Steampunk Style. 

Anyone out there who doesn't know what Steampunk is, don't panic!  Basically, it's an artistic movement slowly gaining notice in the general public that is based around the vision of the future that many academics in the Victorian Era had; steam power, mechanics, vests and monocles to say the least.

So, the world that they saw happening a few hundred years in their future.  I will show the space as it would have been had that alternate future occurred. 

What's really exciting about this project is how multi-media it is.  I'm not just drawing the scene, but I'm also thinking about how local ads would be designed, what local shops would sell, how people would dress, what would be in fashion, etc.  I have a distinct vision here, but there is enough openness to the idea that I feel it can grow organically as I progress. 

As patrons of the arts, you guys make this goal possible.  Historically, patrons have had just as much to do with masterpieces as the artists, and I'm very much looking forward to see what we can create.

So, what are the funds going to be used for?  In a nutshell: art supplies.  Supplies can be a real drain on finances these days, especially when you are buying quality supplies.  Paint, canvas, paper, charcoal, brushes, erasers, and much more are all vital to the success of this project.
