What's so great about The Ladybait Memoirs? 

Whats not great about it? :) 

The Ladybait Memoirs follows the scandal as a crafty antagonist observes and then interrupts his best friend's budding relationship. Oliver L. Dewworthy, a narcissistic hipster, is astounded to find that his shy, bookwormish best friend has attracted the attention of a beautiful supermodel. Envious of Alex and fascinated with Annika, Oliver secretly begins seducing her, using modern hypnotic techniques.

The Ladybait Memoirs is a romantic comedy, and heavy on the comedy side - it'll have you grinning through every frame! It's a great story about relationships - romance and friendships. But there'll be no cheesy "Disney" or "PBS" moments: it takes a deep, unique look at why we do the things we do to each other, and how we affect each other, both positively and negatively. It's a great chance for us to laugh about each other, and ourselves!

Great! What else makes this film worth my support?

One theme in the film: it touches on womanizing and sexism. Sure -- it's a comedy! But that certainly doesn't mean that there shouldn't be a sincere, deep thread of positive thought behind the film. Especially with the rising numbers of physical assault statistics, it's important that society is influenced by more art that promotes the equality and respect of women. 

Also you will be doing your part to flood the industry with more positive, well-told stories. Not only is this a "feel good" sort of picture - it's the kind of movie where we can see all the deep issues and problems within ourselves and laugh about them, and walk out of the theater feeling light-hearted and enlightened.

Where does all the money go?

Everything will go directly toward production costs for completing The Ladybait Memoirs! We have a talent at taking a little and making much of it. A lot of industry professionals are working for low pay, deferred pay, and some pro bono just to accomplish this picture that we all believe so much in.

Who’s making The Ladybait Memoirs?

WRITER / DIRECTOR -- Krisjian Vitateaux is a filmmaker (writer/director/producer) with a little under a decade of experience, working on his third feature-length project. Originally a novelist, this is Krisjian's third self-written feature-film production. Krisjian has won several regional awards in screenwriting for his work, and a few national awards (Fade-In Awards, 2011 for Sparrow's Paradise). Vitateaux has a proven knack for telling unique, engaging stories, with deep, multidimensional characters and exceptional dialogue. 

PRODUCERS -- Niko Stoenescu enhances the production team of Ladybait not only by his on-set experience - having worked on a number of shorts and other features - but in his capacity for handling the intricate business details behind a motion picture. A lover of movies since his childhood, Niko has worked with the director on the short-film A Party of Four, Sparrow's Paradise and on the development for upcoming feature films such as Witchwood. Kyle Stoenescu is a jack-of-all-trades in the industry, having worked his way through different levels of a number of production jobs. Another business partner of the director, having worked on a number of other titles, Kyle focuses his talents on enhancing the creative elements of film production - story development, art direction, and other crucial on-screen elements. Dr. Rebecca Dark, a professor of English, has a rich and experienced background in film and specifically in film critique. She focuses her talents and knowledge on enhancing and overseeing the many elements and nuances of the themes in the script, on the dialogue, and on the interpretation of the actors.

EXECUTIVE PRODUCER -- Matt Hillyer has been blessed with opportunities to learn from the best. With being able to work alongside directors like Ridley Scott, Antoine Fuqua, David O. Russel, Aaron Schneider, Mauro Fiore, and many more he has attained a unique skill set as a director. From directing numerous festival winning shorts, to producing feature films, to being nominated for 2 Grammys and 3 VMA with one VMA win, you could say Matt is pretty good at what he does. He is incredibly versatile which really gives him a leg up in this industry. Being completely immersed in different platforms in film, Matt is paving the way for an exciting career for himself.

Matt however isn't just good at what he does, he loves it. If you ever have the opportunity to meet this man, don't pass it up. One of his main requirements for his cast and crew on set is simply to have fun. He enjoys film and every aspect of it so much. The ambition he has for film and the love of cinema with the addition of a loving heart honestly makes him a rare find in Hollywood. He is currently in the works on directing many projects and is excited about every opportunity he gets to make a film.

1ST AD -- Alex Watson first fell in love with the movies when she was in elementary school, coming home from school to watch classic films such as Casablanca, To Kill a Mockingbird and many others with her mom. After graduating from the exceptional film program at the University of Texas at Austin in just three short years, she decided to specialize in screenwriting and screen theory. She quickly entered the film and television world, starting out as a PA, and working her way up to Producer’s Assistant and 1st Assistant Director. She has worked on indie films in Austin and New Orleans, and notable reality shows such as Top Chef, Khloe and Lamar, Big Rich Texas, and several others. She is currently working on producing her short, Two Senile Bastards, and is also set to AD a noir titled Rogue, set to begin pre-production this August.

DIRECTOR OF CINEMATOGRAPHY -- Ross Skrudland is a Director of Photography that specializes in Digital Film Production and Post workflow. His resume and experience is extensive, boasting such clients as Dell, Air Force, Zoho, Whole Foods, and Texas Oncology just to name a few. Ross has been in the film Industry for about 6 years and loves what he does. He also has an exceptional, unique ability to produce a multi-million dollar picture out of a bare-bones budget. What are you doing with the movie once it’s finished?  

We'll be submitting to Cannes, the Sundance film festival, to Tribeca, to Toronto International, to SXSW, and others. Going all the way! We plan on finding theater distributors after getting some exposure at the festivals. We're a hard-working, dedicated bunch! There's not one of us involved who doesn't believe in the power of a good story, and we're committed to getting it out to the masses!
