ACA is a case and app kit that turns your iPhone 5 or iPhone 4/4S into a fun to use camera for kids.
We created the ACA Camera Kit (case and app) for kids who enjoy playing with smartphones and taking pictures. Aca converts an iPhone into a fun to use camera with an intuitive multi-touch user interface that allows kids to become almost instantly familiar with Aca’s functionalities.
ACA’s fun to use hardware and software designs encourage children to take lots of pictures and to express their playfulness and creativity, which are great ways to keep kids engaged and learn about photography.
We have designed ACA to also function as a rugged case that keeps your iPhone protected. ACA's camera case and snap frame securely holds the iPhone and will provide heavy-duty shielding.
We have bootstrapped for the last 6 months developing the ACA Camera Kit and after numerous designs, mockups and trouble shoots, we have finally completed our fully functional prototype (case and app) and are now ready to start production. This is where Kickstarter comes in. We are raising funding to manufacture, package and ship the ACA Camera Kit for iPhone 5 by March 2013. Following is our production plan:

Risks and challenges Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
As with any project, there are risks and challenges. Projects often have trouble completing production and meeting the expected deadline for shipment. Also, the last stretch of the software development phase, including testing, debugging, and implementing, can be challenging. However, we have already overcome many of these challenges and believe that we can execute post-funding activities without any significant issues.
In addition, we depend on manufacturing and logistical services provided by outsourcing partners. We have worked with these partners in the past and they have been very reliable. Other than possible delays caused by natural disasters and/or other events that are outside of our control, we believe that our product will be successfully produced and delivered on time.

Yes. The 8 filter settings on the ACA Camera case should work seamlessly with other iPhone photo apps.

The app includes a “photo scavenger hunt” game that includes a preloaded hunt list to keep your kids engaged while having fun. The ACA app saves all pictures in a chronological order and the calendar based photo gallery makes it easy to retrieve photos.
