Update #5: Update: The game will ship on 11/1

Posted on October 30, 2010

Sorry about the lack of updates! It's been a little crazy over here. We received the last of the components about two weeks ago, started packaging up the games and then decided to get one of the cards reprinted. The Attack! card was about a millimeter bigger than the other cards and made it difficult to shuffle the deck. The Attack! cards would always end up together because of the size. But we received the reprinted cards this week and we're back to packaging up the games.

So, in the end, one millimeter caused us a two week delay. It makes a huge difference when playing the game though.

Does anyone have a suggestion on what to do with 1000 unplayable Attack! cards?

Here's a shot of the game boxes with some of the components.

Thanks for the ideas! Definitely going to make them into business cards. And when I realize I have more business cards than I could ever use, I'll make them into a card tower.

      Ha! Funny.

I got my game yesterday, and I'm looking forward to trying it out soon!

Jim, let me know what you think when you get a chance to play. Positive or negative feedback is appreciated, and either will help me improve on future games.

Update #4: Project complete!

Posted on October 1, 2010

Thanks everyone! Lines of Fire was 152% funded. That's 150% higher than I thought we would.

All of the final game components have been ordered and will be in my hands within the next 1-2 weeks. I'll be shipping the game out immediately after that. I sent out requests for information this morning, so we can get the game out to everyone who pledged.

Thanks again to everyone who made this a possibility. I'll keep you posted on future games, and feel free to stop by Championland.net for updates. Hope you enjoy the game when it makes it over to you!

Update #3: Updates (logo and sketch card)

Posted on September 16, 2010

Hello friends!

We've got about 2 weeks left and we're currently at 117% funded. That's awesome. Thanks to everyone and thanks to all of the new backers this week!

I got an email from Jonathan Fisher with some art last night. First of all, he sent over the final logo for the game. It definitely has the feel we've been going for the whole time. Now that the logo is complete, I went ahead and ordered the boxes. They should be here within the next 10 days.

He also sent a sketch card that he made for me (I can't wait to get it in person), so I thought I'd share it with you guys.

Thanks again for everything!
-J.

Update #2: Full funding reached!

Posted on September 7, 2010

Over the weekend we reached our goal of $350! It only took a few days, which is amazing. It's all really exciting. Thanks again to everyone involved in this.

I'm starting the final steps of this game that weren't a possibility a week ago. I'm lining up all of the components for the game. I met with Jonathan Fisher and he had a great logo idea for the top of the box. I can't wait to see how it turns out. Other than that, just finalizing the rules sheet and the inserts.

Just wanted to say thanks again for the support!

Update #1: We're 24 hours in...

Posted on September 2, 2010

...and things have been going really well! Thank you to everyone who has pledged, and also to everyone who has helped spread the word about this project. It's super nice of you and I really, really appreciate the support. It's unbelievable that we're over the halfway point already in just one day.

My plan for the next few days is this: I'm going to post more images of the final game and some of the original playtest art. I'll also have a short video on here by this weekend.

Thanks again!
