About this project
The Itchy-O marching band (IOMB) is recording their first 5-song CD and producing a short documentary of their adventures on and off the streets (produced by Denver's finest - Improbable Pictures).
The IOMB, the world's only percussion-centered electronic marching band, prides itself on bringing sophisticatedly savage, avant-garde music to the people, when and where it is least expected. We live for the stunned faces, staggering delight and the awkward cross-eyed wonder that spreads across unsuspecting crowds whenever we turn the corner.

A recent press shout-out in Denver’s Westword sums it up best; “some odd electronic music accompanied by the sounds of percussion filled the air. The ephemeral nature of these performances are, of course, a core principle of the IOMB experience. We are committed to launching uninvited (read: usually unpaid) marches on the masses. We don’t do it for the money (obviously).
The IOMB is an off-shoot of the music/film project Itchy-O and has grown from five to twenty-five members in just six months. We have invested significant resources in specialized mobile sound systems, instruments and other magic-makers (ie. Larry the Lion, our crowd-molesting mascot). With each outing, we risk mangling fragile equipment in the madness of the moment. Rarely do we return without at least one casualty amidst the gear.
In capturing both audio and video sketches of our fleeting assails, we hope to give a wider audience a taste of the IOMB. In addition to the CD and DVD, we’re producing t-shirts, limited edition posters, and stickers... The merch sales will help us repair/replace and upgrade our equipment (louderLOUDER!).

The Itchy-O Marching Band formed as a side project of the experimental film/music troupe Itchy-O and has grown from five to twenty-five members in just six months. We're sparking our heels to bring more avant-garde music to the people, when and where it is least expected.
