--THE VIDEO

The first part of the video above was created a couple of years ago during the beginning stages of the filming process for this film.  The second part of the video was recently constructed specifically for this site with the use of newer footage filmed in the past year.

--THE FILM

"Love-Rescue-Heal" is a working title for the film and could possibly change when the final product is released.  The final product of the film will be a full length documentary (at least 90 mins) focusing specifically on a few girls who have been through the horror of being sex-trafficked.  We follow them after they have completed the Rapha House re-habilitation program and as they are re-interagted back into society after their terrible events.  Each of the girls have a different story and have made different decisions as they move on to a new future.  Some end up being the most amazing stories of redemption while others are tragic and heartbreaking.

We will also focus some on Stephanie Freed, the founder of Rapha House, and some of how the organization has come about and focus a lot on Stephanie's thoughts on the girls we are covering.

And lastly, we will also briefly cover the actual darkness of the world of sex-trafficking/prostitution.

--THE PLAN

Filming began over 3 years ago from many trips to Cambodia for promotional video work for the Rapha House organization.  A recent filming trip taken in October of 2011 was a very fruitful trip, not just for filming for promotional work, but in the overall planned for a full length documentary.  One more trip is planned to complete the filming of this project.  Filmmaker Derek Hammeke will be in Cambodia this summer for 3 months (and is there now) to complete the filming process.  Then on to post production for most likely 5-6 months.  The time could be shorter if more funds are acquired.  More jobs in post could be contracted out to other workers to maximize workflow.

Is Rapha House a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization?

YES IT IS!!!  Your donation to this project is tax deductible (10% of your donation for processing costs to Kickstarter and Amazon will not be tax-deductible).

Can we exceed the goal?

YES! Kickstarter will allow as much money as is given before the deadline.  This film would benefit so much by having more than $30,000.  THE AMOUNT OF $30,000 IS THE ABSOLUTE BARE MINIMUM TO GET THIS PROJECT DONE, BUT WE'D LOVE TO DO MORE.  The girls in the film are amazing and we want to do them justice by achieving the best production possible with the means we have.  The post production and editing phase of a film makes all the difference in the professional presentation. The more time and technique able to be given at this stage, the greater the quality of the final product.  So if you believe in this project, we'd love your support.  :)

If I donate, when can I redeem the incentive?

All incentives will only happen if our goal is met. If we do meet our goal, the film will most likely not be completed earlier than May 2013, but if it is we will let you know.  Some gifts may be shipped earlier than this date, while others may ship closer to the release of the film.  Hang in there with us!  We will let you know and get you your well deserved stuff as quickly as we can.

Who does the money go to?

The money goes directly to the Rapha House organization.  It will be put into a film project fund and will only specifically be used for what's needed to complete the film.
