Kickstarter

This project will fund the commission of a new piece for marimba dedicated to Tommy Wolf. The piece will be written by Casey Cangelosi and I (Meghan McManus, Tommy's Cousin) will perform it at the opening of a new activity center that is being named in Tommy’s memory.

Hans Christian Anderson once said “Where words fail, music speaks.” I feel that this sentiment is especially fitting considering the circumstance of Tommy’s death and the great loss experienced by those who knew him. My performance of Tommy’s piece will certainly contain moments of sorrow, but my focus is to incorporate the beauty that stems from remembering his life. I would like to promote a feeling of community at the performance as we reflect on the memory of someone we love very much.

Funds raised will cover the cost of commissioning this piece, which is the exact cost of the fundraising goal.  

If funds excess of the goal amount are raised, they will be applied toward:
-Kickstarter and Amazon fees (approximately 8-10% of every donation)
-Cost of rewards for backers
-Cost of shipping rewards for backers

I would like to to personally thank you for your interest in this project, Tommy was a very special boy and we are heartbroken without him in our lives. This is my attempt to honor him through something that is very special to me, in hopes that my performance will offer something special to those who listen.
