Progress along the F Train
Good morning everyone.
I have not done a good job of posting updates on Kickstarter about how the project has been progressing. I will try to do a better job.
As most of you know, I spent the end of April in New York sketching and documenting the stations along the F Train. All 45 of them. And it was an amazing experience. In the end I came home with more than 6000 reference photos, a whole bunch of sketches and enough ideas for paintings that could keep me busy as long as I want.
One of the questions I have been asked frequently is "how many times did the police stop me?" Well, the answer is 8 times. I can attest that the transit police get very interested when they see someone rooting around the stations with a camera and a notebook. Fortunately I did have permission and the Transit Authority's PR department was very accommodating every time the police called them.
Since I have been back, I have been very busy working on the painting and well as getting the reward gifts ready to ship. My original goal of having all of the rewards shipped by the end of May was extremely ambitious, but I am now getting close to completing all of them.
This past week I completed all of the tshirts. I hope you will enjoy them as much as I do. So all I have left is the prints and then I can ship everything out. I have a few designs I am working on and I just need to commit to one of them.

So far I have completed 18 painting and I have another 7 that are in various stages of completion. My goal is that in the end to have at least 2 paintings from each station and somewhere around 120 paintings total. I will be a lot of work, but I am thoroughly enjoying myself.
This weekend I am participating in a 24 hour painting competition here in Greenville and my goal is to complete a 22" x 30" watercolor in that time period. I will post progress images on my blog if you would like to follow along.
If you are in the Greenville area at all and would like to stop by my studio, you are more than welcome to. I love having visitors and would relish the opportunity to play show and tell.
Here are a few of the paintings I have completed so far. I have more posted on my blog - blog.ohlinger.com If you see one your are interested in, please let me know. They will need good homes and they are available for purchase. Hope you enjoy the paintings.
