In November The Moving Architects are performing at Movement Research Open Performance in NYC and an evening concert in Chez Bushwick in Brooklyn!

This is the NYC debut of The Moving Architects! The company is growing fast in Chicago and we are ready to try some new venues, meet some new artists, and soak in the NYC dance scene.

The Moving Architects include:

We plan to fly to New York on the morning of November 17th and (very excitedly) prepare for the Movement Research Open Performance at Dance Theater Workshop that evening. We will be showing our newest work, "March of the Oys" that uses lively baltic music. The following evening we will perform a full show at Chez Bushwick on November 18th at 7pm, a wonderful (and hip) space in Brooklyn. The program includes the 60's inspired mod celebration of "The New", a tightly carved solo of coordinated complexity created and performed by Norton "Standing Girl with Raised Right Elbow", as well as a journey with a brash and travel-weary caravan in "This Sandy Cube" with live music by Ian Hatcher.

The evening concludes with the company's critically acclaimed recent work "SACRED SPACES" with original sound score by Ian Hatcher. "Like the history of religion itself, her [Norton's] latest work is sublimely meditative in one moment and seething with violence the next." --TimeOut Chicago. (clips are in the video)

We will then fly home with the spirit of the big apple in our hearts, a magnet for the fridge, and immense gratitude to all who made this happen!

Pledges will pay for five flights, transportation, and a per diem for each of us. We plan to utilize the couches and good graces of friends and colleagues for housing. Join us in this adventure!
