I have recently been invited to an 8 week long artist-in-residence program at the Samband Islenskra Myndlistarmanna (SIM), The Association of Icelandic Visual Artists, in Rejkjavik, Iceland. Having only just recently graduated from the MFA program at Parsons the New School for Design in early September (after two and a half years of being a full-time student) I do not have the savings to fund this opportunity, though I am so incredibly excited to go. Any pledged funding will be used for the residency lodging fee, airfare to and from Rejkjavik, as well as any production costs (film, equipment, etc.) If by some extraordinary chance I exceed my fundraising goal any additional donations will be used for any extraneous costs of living and working in Iceland for the duration of the residency.

My work is about using photography to explore the different processes through which the human spirit seeks transcendence, whether it be through landscape, through time, or through relationships with those around them.

I cannot wait to begin working in the unusual landscape that is Iceland-- a powerful, sublime nature that envelops you-- and visually investigate its impact on the individuals that it raises... that call it home.
