About this project
Lenard Smith, A photographer based in New York City is aiming to publish a book of thirty new color photographs that examine the details and fragments of the institutional setting. The collection of photographs draw inspiration from the Modernist Movement, and point the viewer to understand Smith's interest in several traditions including; Painting, Architecture, Interiors, and Still-Life compositions. The book will include an essay written by an esteemed Art Critic/Curator; articulating the other observations of Smith's practice and approach to revisit what most ignore as commonplace.
Smith received his MFA in Advanced Photographic Studies from Bard College in 2008.
