After doing stand up for 25+ years, I'm finally recording my 1st DVD. I can only do it with YOUR help! You'll get something too!
Every other day someone asks me where they can get a DVD? I recommend The Jerk or The Godfather, and refer them to Netflix.
"No! Of YOU! Do you sell recordings of your stand up?"
Um, long pause, no. Because I don't have any!
Until now!
On March 12th, 2011, I'll be taping my first DVD in North Hollywood, CA in a beautiful 300-seat theatre in front of an invitation-only audience and people like you who contribute!
I decided to raise the money myself instead of pre-selling my special to a TV network or cable station because I want to retain complete creative control. I'm not just taping a stand up set--I'm doing a multi-media event, with photos, footage, comedy and music, special guests, audience participation, and DVD extras, to celebrate 25+ years of work.
Between the crew (camera operators, sound and lighting technicians, stage manager, editor, set designer and make up artist), the theatre rental, music, and additional production expenses, it will cost me 50K to do this right!
My husband, Jeffrey Sherman, who recently directed and produced the acclaimed feature documentary for Disney, "the boys: the sherman brothers' story" will produce and direct (gee, how'd I swing that?), and we guarantee an A+ finished product!
