I am Donna Roman Hernandez, the Creator, Director, Producer and Writer of the Crossing Blood Lines short film project and the owner of Blue Force Films based in New Jersey. I was inspired and encouraged to write this short film's screenplay after my Web Series of the same name won three Audience Choice Awards in the indie film circuit including my receiving a 'Filmmaker To Watch' Web Series Award and the "Audience Choice - Web Series" Award from the 2011 New York International Film Festival. We received so many positive comments from the viewers about the web series' content (that had a cliff hanger ending) and all wanted to view more of the story. By popular demand I decided to expand the CROSSING BLOOD LINES Web Series into a short film. We have some production and post production costs that have stalled us .....that's why we need YOUR help to finish this film.
WHAT IS CROSSING BLOOD LINES ABOUT?
CROSSING BLOOD LINES is a short film that offers a realistic view and delves into the dark side of policing and corruption between two New Jersey cop brothers, Mike and Angelo Longo, and their 'Mob' boss cousin, Joe Tullo.
As this project's Creator I drew upon my 28 years of law enforcement experience in developing the storyline and script for this police-themed film.
Crossing Blood Lines is set in New Jersey in the early 1990's. Police Captain Mike Longo enjoyed a 20-year stellar police career with the Exus Police Department and is poised to be its next Police Chief. However, he knows that two family members stand in his way; his younger brother, Det. Sgt. Angelo Longo, a rogue, corrupt wanna-be mobster and their Mob boss cousin, Joe Tullo, who is out of prison on an Appeal for a murder conviction. The Mayor of Exus is seeking re-election and pressuring Captain Longo to reel in his brother and cousin, while Internal Affairs Commander Lieutenant DeBlasio is building a case against Angelo and Joe Tullo while hopeful the Mayor will promote him to Deputy Chief.
After a botched, bloody robbery is committed and a mother's death bed confession is revealed in a secreted letter, a conspiracy begins where love, loyalty and betrayal have no boundaries for the Longo and Tullo families. With a 'top cop' promotion at stake, family blood lines will be crossed and there will be no redemption without sin.
THE CROSSING BLOOD LINES CAST/CREW
Donna Roman Hernandez is the CROSSING BLOOD LINES creator, writer, director and producer and along with her production company BLUE FORCE FILMS collaborates with Erwin Kreiner of Aladdin Video Services in New Jersey with this short film's production. Donna is a 28-time award-winning filmmaker who specializes in police-themed documentaries, short films, and web series. A dedicated cast of charismatic actors include veteran actors Melissa Joseph and K. Stevens; rising stars Dennis Cruz, Jeff Powers, Joe Pangaro, Dan Mirakej, Rosemarie Hernandez-Pagan and Grange Rutan; newcomers Luis Osorio and Dan Dell Valle.
WHAT WILL THE FUNDS GO TOWARDS?
All the funds pledged will go towards the film's editing production costs and getting it into the can. Without your KICKSTARTER pledges, finishing the CROSSING BLOOD LINES short film production stalls.
