Help Aimee Wilson (and band) fund the final production of their album!

Hi friends + strangers,

Thanks for visiting this..

This album is 4 years in the making, including the writing, arranging, + gathering of all those that made it happen.

I built this page because I need help with funding the albums final production. Included in this- is mixing, mastering and the first phase of pressing (the album cover) in our Philadelphia letterpress print shop.

The music doesn't quite qualify for any 1 style, as I stopped trying to explain it years ago!  The songs are just testaments of my life and prayers, joined by two incredible ensembles of instrumentation and singing.

Many gifted friends have helped make it happen: including the factorye band, co-producer Daniel Smith, his dear family, Aldo Ceresa (arranger of the Sacred Harp ensemble), the Sacred Harp ensemble, Colin Comstock (video producer), + all who listened, prayed, hosted, fed and walked alongside us.

Ultimately, the vision for the album's release, is to use this music as a shared language for many "audiences", and to invite everyone in to our songs.

However, given the sheer size of a project like this (with 12 musicians, 7 harmony singers, 2 producers), and being the sole funder, I have found it very hard to fund alone.

So, here is a humble requests to help me (and us) finish our music offering... so we can get on with giving it as soon as possible!

Here is a list of our needs (in order to finish production + prepare for a tour)--

*  10-13 studio days (for final mixing):  $4,000 to $5,200

*  Mastering  $800 to $1,000

*  First phase of pressing (for album cover):  $2,000 to $3,000

Total:     $6,800 to $9,200

FAQ

  • Sacred Harp is an American tradition, rooted in the South, that brings communities together to sing four-part hymns and anthems. The term "sacred harp" refers to the human voice-- that instrument one is born with at birth. Participants consider it as a "living, breathing, ongoing practice" passed directly to them by generations of singers. Technically, the style of singing is called "shape note singing" because the musical notation uses note heads in 4 distinct shapes to aid in sight reading. For more info, visit www.fasola.org

    As for the presence of Sacred Harp on this album: friends that I have made at sings throughout the Northeast will join Daniel and I at his studio, to record harmonies written in the Sacred Harp style for 8 of the 12 album's tracks.
