About this project
We have a great crew and a great cast - what we don't have is great funding. We need a relatively small amount of money to cover some of our expenses while we shoot the rest of our film, then edit the footage. We have a very dedicated group, and we've done some really wonderful work together - http://vimeo.com/6569786 - and we've won awards for our films. We made 'The Heiress Lethal' originally for the 48 Hour Film Project San Diego. Our original title was 'The Fatal Heir', and we wrote, prepped, shot and edited the entire film in 48 hours. Our film won Best Acting-Ensemble, Best Cinematography, Best Directing, Audience Award-Screening Group D, and Best Film of The 48 Hour Film Project San Diego 2010. 'The Heiress Lethal' is the same footage, with more time and care taken in the editing. We are very good at getting the most from our resources, and that is why we are asking for such a small amount of money ot make a film - for any other production company, a Film Noir feature would cost a minimum of a million dollars. We will use this money to pay for crew meals, props, wardrobe, makeup, anything we would use up and have to buy more of. We will also be paying a fraction of our costs for equipment rental and labor, mostly just a token to say thanks to cast and crew. A few folks who put in more days of labor will get more tokens of pay, like the editor, who will work for weeks on the film.

Mike Brueggemeyer is 47 years old. His knees ache and his vision has receded to just past the end of his arm. But he is a really good Director.
Mike has been making videos - commercials, corporate videos, web videos, training videos - for the last 21 years. He began from an interest in theater, which turned into an interest in cinematography, and only recently has turned to directing narrative films. Well, telling stories, really. For a long time, Mike has been focused on how to accomplish projects, the technology of the process. Only in the last couple years has he been focused on the projects, and how they can affect viewers. So even though he can't jump as high as he used to, or run as fast, or lift as much, he has figured out how to lift something much more important. Spirits. Mike wants to make folks smile. Want to help him? Contribute now. And thank you for your pledge!
