Chroma: Intensity of Design23rd Annual Design and Industry Student Design Exhibition
San Francisco State University http://daishow.sfsu.edu
Opening reception: Wednesday, May 9, 2012, 6-9PM
Jack Adams Hall / Cesar Chavez Student Center / SF State main campus
We are the students of the exhibit design class (DAI524) at San Francisco State University. We need your help and support to complete the fabrication of the annual Design and Industry student show, and stage a wonderful opening reception with food, drinks, and music to complement the wide display of cutting-edge projects by fellow DAI students.
We would like to invite you to the opening reception on Wednesday, May 9, 2012, from 6 to 9PM. The show is open from May 8 through Friday, May 11.
This year's show is called Chroma: Intensity of Design. This annual show is the longest running student-sponsored event featured in the Cesar Chavez Student Center at San Francisco State University. Every year, for four days in mid-May, the department showcases a wide array of outstanding work in graphic design, product design, digital media, materials and manufacturing, rapid prototyping, CAD, 3D modeling, electronics, and research projects.
To make the exhibition a success, we need raw materials such as plywood, paint, fabric, office and art materials, and food and beverages for the opening. Through your donation — large or small — you can make the upcoming exhibition and its opening one of the best ever.
This year's show marks the 23rd anniversary of the event. Every year, the students in the exhibit design class ideate, develop, design, and fabricate all the components of the show. The class includes a mix of graphic design, exhibit design, promotion and logistics, and event management. After a name and a theme are selected, a visual treatment and exhibit components are developed. Finally, everything is fabricated in the departments' facilities and assembled on site in the 5,000 sq ft venue in the student center.
Despite particularly difficult economic times in California's educational system at present, we are still determined to produce this event professionally and showcase all the hard work and creativity of our Design & Industry department.
Kickstarter works in an unusual way, and its practice only increases the importance of your gift. After you choose to make a donation, no charge will be made until the end of the funding period, that is, not until May 1st, 2012. But, you will be charged ONLY IF the goal is reached by May 1st. Thus, your early generosity is especially appreciated: your gift now can help make this particular campaign a great success. And of course anyone can keep contributing even after the goal is reached, so your generosity will further benefit our cause.
Please help make our show a success by donating now! Any amount helps.
Thank you so much from everyone on The Chroma Team.
