Mark Holthusen
San Francisco-based artist Mark Holthusen is best known for creating projects that push the boundaries of traditional photography. Mark's award-winning work has been lauded by Communication Arts, Graphis, American Photography and PDN. In 2010, Mark won the IPA Photographer of the Year Awards in Advertising and Music, and was nominated for the 2008 Lucie for International Photographer of the Year. Mark was featured in Lürzer's Archive's 200 Best Ad Photographers of 2008/09 and spoke on the intersection of art and technology at the prestigious TED conference in 2006.
In fall of 2006, Mark brought his vision to the opening of Roger Waters' opera, Ca Ira. Waters and Sony BMG Music asked Mark to replace traditional stage design with his images for the opera's debut. Over 120 of Mark's photographs served as the opera's sole visual narration and were met by critical acclaim.
Mark has collaborated with the Tiger Lillies before for the music video, Living Hell, which is a song from the band’s unreleased Rime of the Ancient Mariner album.
