About this project

Hello Internet land! My name is Katie, and I'm a fledgling animator.

I've gathered you here today because I need your help. I've been given the amazing opportunity to spend five months living in Germany through the Leipzig International Art Programme, a residency that provides young artists with living spaces and studios. I will be staying in the country form September until January, when I will participate in one of Germany's biggest Open Studios and exhibit a brand new animation. That's where you come in!

As I gear up to make the longest and most labor intensive animation I've ever done, my excitement mounts, but my bank account coughs and sputters. With your help, I will be able to afford the materials I need to complete the project and participate in my first ever international exhibition.

Your pledged dollars will help me purchase a new computer (my current electronic baby is almost 5 years old and can't keep up with the programs I need to be able to animate!), the newest versions of Adobe After Effects and Final Cut Pro, so much paper (all of my work is drawn by hand, frame by frame), paint, and maybe a jar of peanut butter or two so that I don't starve while I'm in the process of working on the dang thing.
