Update #3: Almost There!

Posted on November 10, 2010

We just wanted to update all of our amazing donors that we have finished recording and mixing the new album! While we are getting closer and closer to completion, we aren't quite there yet. We are sending the record out to be mastered the first week of December, and are really excited to be utilizing the services of John Golden of Golden Mastering in California. Some of his notable clients include Sonic Youth, Girls, Chris Isaak, Dirty Projectors, and St. Vincent.

We're incredibly excited about how the mixes have turned out, and can't wait for you to hear the album! We know the mastering process will only make it that much better.

As soon as we have the final, mastered tracks back, we will do everything we can to expedite the delivery to YOU, along with whatever other rewards we owe you. PROMISE!

Thanks again for all of your support! New music is just around the corner.

Update #2: THANK YOU!

Posted on September 18, 2010

IT'S A GO! The project has been successfully backed thanks to the incredible generosity of so many amazing people. We can't thank everyone enough for supporting not only this record, but the band as well -- we are truly humbled. We start recording mid-October, and can't wait to make this record now. We're really excited about the new material, and look forward to getting it out there.

Thanks again from the bottom of our hearts. We couldn't have done it without you.

Sincerely,
Pet Lions

Update #1: A NEW SONG!

Posted on September 8, 2010

To say thanks for all of the incredible support the band has received, we recorded this acoustic version of our new song "The English Room" which will appear on the forthcoming album.

If you haven't donated yet, anything you can give is incredibly appreciated and will go a long way in helping us record and release this album as soon as possible!

Many thanks,
Pet Lions

Pet Lions

For having only been around since July 2008, the Chicago indie pop rock band Pet Lions have made quite the name for themselves. The group, comprised of Karl Ostby, Shuhei Yamamoto, Tom Owens, and Matt Dahl, skyrocketed to local notoriety with only their live shows behind them. The energy emitted at every Lions’ show was enough to garner the band a lasting affection of music fans throughout the Midwest. Ready to take their talent to the studio, Pet Lions released their debut EP, Soft Right, in March of 2009. Unlike many bands that struggle through their first EP and founding years, Lions’ debut attempt was met with praise. Their upbeat and airy melodies were a welcome throwback to early-80’s new wave while the clever lyrics made every song distinctly their own.
