I want to write a piece for accordionist Stas Venglevski. Stas wants me to write a piece for him for performance in either 2012 or 2013.
We agreed that the piece would be of 15 to 20 minutes duration for solo accordionist without any other performers. The composition may include the use of Stas' voice, if a text considered suitable by both myself and Stas can be found. The composition will be a single continuous movement, divided into sections of contrasting character, much as Ravel's Concerto in D (for the left hand).
The title for the composition is Fantasy, with an appropriate subtitle to be chosen in the course of composition. The piece will be dedicated to Stas.
