I forgot to mention that the documentary, in it's entirety, is now available to watch on YouTube. I figured that I would post it there so that those of you who haven't had an opportunity to attend a screening could see what they contributed to. Well, I have two things left to do which will take less than 30 minutes and THEN I'll be done with this documentary after almost 5 years of work! It has been bittersweet finishing it up not only because it's been something that I've been working on for so long, but because I have enjoyed it so much. I've met a lot of wonderful and generous people and have had a chance to reconnect with some that I had been out of contact with. 

Next, I will be getting ready for the first screening which will be happening at Screenland Crossroads on June 2 in Kansas City, MO. After that, getting premiums together and beginning to enter my documentary in a few film festivals. 

Again, I would like to thank you all SO VERY MUCH for all of your help, support, and generosity. It has felt good to realize that I know so many people who care about the subject of this documentary as much as I do. 

If you live somewhere else besides Lawrence, KS or Kansas City, MO and would like to help me get a screening in your town, please let me know and we can figure out how to make that happen.

Hello...

Sorry it's been such a long time since I've last posted. For those of you who know me, you know this is not uncommon. Since I have posted last I have received the funding! I got the impression that I would have to wait for everyone's payment to clear, and then Amazon would hold it for 14 days, and then it would take another 5-7 days to get to my bank account. But, somehow, I was able to access the funds in a little over a week! It confuses me, but I have resisted thinking too much about it. 

So, I have already applied some of the funds to mucho editing software and have helped to pay for a MUCH NEEDED computer upgrade. I am FINALLY editing on the computer that I should've started with. Next, I will pay for the music licensing and start rounding up what I need to gather together the premiums. Then, I should be done putting the finishing touches on the documentary by around the end of April and can begin to enter it into some upcoming film festivals. 

Of course, the next big step after that will be the first screening on June 2nd which is looking like it going to turn out to be quite an event! If any of you are in Kansas City, Missouri around then, I suggest you check it out! I will be shooting more footage that night to include on the DVD extras.

And then will come more film festivals. So, that is what I have planned so far. I hope that this finds you all well and, again, thanks SO SO much for contributing to and helping out with this project! It is SO appreciated!

I would like to sincerely thank everyone who pitched in to make this Kickstarter project a success!! I am moved by all the support that this project has received and by all of the encouragement that I've received from all of you! It makes me feel like what I've been doing for the past few years is actually worthwhile and important. I only hope  to do the subject matter a fraction of the justice that he deserves.
