Now before you read any further, I know what you're thinking . . . "Look at this guy! Putting together a small collection of poems to share with others as if this is going to end well?!" . . . "Who would ACTUALLY think that other people are interested in what this person writes and thinks in their free time?!" . . . or a few of my favorite stock lines might be echoed in your own reaction to this page "Give me a break!" . . . "Is this for real?" . . . "What planet are you from?!"

I understand all of those very likely reactions and most likely would be having one of those myself. In many ways this collection of poems deals primarily with a strong ambivalence I feel towards most things, however, I believe that these feelings are universal and common to everyone here in our modern life.  It is this seemingly inevitable hypocrisy and inescapable duality inherent to being human that is explored in these poems. Hence as explained in the video and preface to the anthology "Opening my mouth means I'm eating my words."

I hope that not only those who currently know me but also a few other brave souls I have never met may understand me and themselves better through these works. The poems in my opinion are better read aloud and it is the rhyming, at times tongue twisting nature, that makes them fun to read (a la Dr. Seuss, Shel Silverstein, et al).

Now to answer a question that may still remain despite my explanation. 

"But are you any good at it?" 

Although that is ultimately up for you to decide, I am better than you will be expecting and as a result think that you will find Eating My Words a pleasant surprise.
