About this project

Confined is the newest creation from B3W under the Artistic Direction of Emily Berry. The concert will feature live music by world-renowned violinist and composer Daniel Bernard Roumain, video by Gail Scott White, and spoken word by artist Todd Craig. The cast reveals personal accounts of confinement within the implications of one’s own society. Each story will detail personal struggles and triumphs in a society that can be all but forgiving. This interactive manifestation of music, movement, video, and words is bound to peak your interest and get you thinking beyond the parameters of your imagination.
B3W was recently awarded a Mondo Cane Commission from Dixon Place to create Confined. Our amazing dancers include Sara Roer, Nicole McClam, Yuko Mitsuishi, and Milvia Pacheco and actress Shonnese C.L. Coleman. While we received a commission from Dixon Place, the commission only covers a fraction of the cost to create the concert. We still need to raise $2,000 to cover the costs of collaborators salaries, dancers’ salaries, costumes, rehearsal space rental, and video documentation. Please consider supporting Confined. Dixon Place is also our fiscal sponsor, which is a not-for-profit 501c3 organization, so your donation will be tax deductible.
Confined will Premiere Friday, September 10th at 8:00 pm with performances continuing Fridays and Saturdays through September 25th (September 10th, 11th, 17th, 18th, 24th, and 25th at 8:00 pm). All performances will be at Dixon Place, 161A Chrystie Street, New York, NY.
