Help get GARY HAS A DATE to the 2011 Phoenix Fringe Festival!

GARY HAS A DATE is an original one-woman physical comedy full of romance and prat falls, created by me, Emily Windler. I first created this show while at Dell'Arte International in Humboldt County, CA, where I performed it as a 10-minute piece. It was received with overall excitement and much laughter, so now I want to develop it into a 30-minute length performance with even more physical gags which will premiere at the 2011 Phoenix Fringe Festival!

GARY HAS A DATE portrays a night in the life of a hopelessly romantic man, Gary Smalley, with plenty of falling and tripping over himself and practically no dialogue. It begins when Gary is preparing for his date to arrive and ends when he accidentally knocks himself out on his own table and misses his date knocking at the door altogether. This physical comedy is clowning-meets-Don Knotts-meets-cross-dressing, all wrapped up in a 30-minute package of hilarity!

I was fortunate enough to have GARY HAS A DATE accepted into the Phoenix Fringe Festival, however I still need to get the production to Arizona from Oregon.

Which is where you come in!

In order to send Gary to the Grand Canyon State I need extra funds to help pay for:

-Travel Expenses -The construction of a touring set and props -Fringe Festival fees -Promotional Materials

HOW IT WORKS: If I can raise the full $1200 by March 12, I get the full amount. But if I don't raise the full amount, I don't get ANY of it. So every dollar counts! I have set the lowest contribution at $5, so most everyone can afford to donate (of course if you can afford more I'll definitely take it!). And, if you can't afford that, there are plenty of other ways you can help! You can spread the word to your friends who could possibly help donate, or come see the show in Phoenix, volunteer at the fringe, make me a quiche - or whatever! The more people who know about it, the more will come, and that is what I really care about! Any money I raise ABOVE my goal I can use to get the word out even more and to pay my technical staff at the Fringe!

I am so thrilled to bring GARY HAS A DATE to Phoenix where audiences will experience a new and exciting one-woman show that will make them laugh and possibly see a small reflection of their own lives. Please donate and become a part of exciting, silly, original theater that will make people laugh!
