A woman working late at the office, all by herself. What's the worst that could happen?
What It Is...
With your help, it's going to be the scariest short film you ever saw.
SICK BUILDING SYNDROME is a term used by the EPA when buildings mysteriously cause people to suffer physical or emotional discomfort. But Amy, a young go-getter working her way up the career ladder, is about to discover that the office building she works in presents a graver threat than mere chemicals in the carpet, or mold spores in the ventilation.
In a nutshell, SICK BUILDING SYNDROME is a very short, extremely scary film about a woman working alone, late at night, in an office building where a malevolent spirit roams.
This is not a gore-fest and it isn't campy. It's simply the scariest short film you ever saw.
What We Need...
The script is written, the crew is filling out, casting is underway. But we need Kickstarter funding to pay for things like camera rental, location costs, wardrobe, production insurance, visual effects, and coffee -- lots and lots of coffee, to keep our energy up so we can bring you, you know... the scariest short film you ever saw.
Who We Are...
The script was written and will be directed by Michael Gilvary, a writer on the A&E drama Breakout Kings. Michael also wrote two independent feature films -- According to Greta (2009), starring Hilary Duff and Ellen Burstyn, and the upcoming action thriller Transit, starring Jim Caviezel and James Frain.
The short film will be produced by Alison Rosenzweig and Michael Gaeta, who produced 2011’s Fright Night.
And it will be shot by cinematographer Tom Schnaidt, who got his start working on television shows like Homicide: Life on the Street and The Wire.
Who Are You?
We’d love to know. We assume you are a movie fan, or just someone who occasionally loves a good scare. But whoever you are, and no matter how much you pledge, we appreciate your support. After all, if we fall even a dollar short of our fundraising goal, the project doesn't get any funding. That's why we’ve tried to offer fun rewards for every level of support.
Make sure to tell us your story about that one night you had to stay late at work, when the office was empty and dark and... (fill in your own personal version of SICK BUILDING SYNDROME).
Thank you!
(A note to backers outside the US: If your pledge is going to earn you a physical reward (i.e. something we'll need to mail to you), please consider throwing in a few extra bucks to cover international shipping.)
