I'm Greg Burnham, and I want to publish a line of Children's Books about character building. I've even pulled some stories from my childhood, and "Broken Glass" will be the first. I'll need $10,000 to print and produce the hard and soft cover copies of the book , and I'm using to Kickstarter to help get us funded . Who is the Illustrator?
I have chosen to work with Marcus Williams, a brilliant illustrator and good friend. Marcus and I have worked together on projects before (https://sites.google.com/site/marcusthevisual/staybattlinpinups, and The Starvin' Artist amongst others). https://sites.google.com/site/marcusthevisual/starvingartistpages He truly is a master of transforming my ideas into sheer visual beauty.
What is the Story about?
Our "yet to be named" character, is a 6 year old, baseball loving child with a vivid imagination. An imagination that causes him to engage in a forbidden act. Baseball in the house!! This same imagination runs wild as the child tries to decide if he should come clean or, figure out a way to hide the broken window from his parents.
Who is Broken Glass for?
Broken Glass is a book designed for small Children ages 4-7. But, we want the entire family involved here. The goal is for Parents to read the book to the kids, using funny voices and having fun, while driving home the lesson of the story...It's a lot easier to just TELL THE TRUTH.
Pledge Packages??
We've come up with some really neat pledge packages. They range from a PDF copy of the book all the way to having a child, of your choice, illustrated into the book. One supporter will even be allowed to name the main character of the story. Remember, with Kickstarter, no one will be charged unless we reach our goal. All payments are facilitated by Amazon.com so it's totally secure.

Yes, the story was written before the illustrator was approached for this project.

No. This is one of the reasons why we are here. So I can get funding to pay the illustrator to complete the project.

Nothing. No one will be charged, and it's back to the drawing board for the Broken Glass project.

Approximately half of the money will go towards Printing, shipping, posters etc, and the rest goes to the Illustrator.

Correct. The entire $10k is allotted for production, printing and distribution purposes, goal is set up to get this book printed and in the hands of people.

This would not be a donation. You would actually be pre-ordering the book. By self publishing, I have to incur the costs that a publisher would normally handle. If you were to pre-order the book, we can get this project done and in your hands a lot faster.

If we don't reach our goal, there is no guarantee that Broken Glass will make it to the stores. Please don't force us into the hands of those mean old publishing companies...
