A boy & girl's journey through America, on foot, to discover what needs to be found. Documented in print & on film w/an original score.

Most people on this planet, at some point, question why they're here and what their true purpose in life is. I too have fallen prey to these thoughts, and sought out a way to find what I'm all about. I'm very much into film and the editting process. I've created a few projects, but this is the biggest. When completed, it will also be the most rewarding, for myself, and the viewers.

I've come to the conclusion that walking from my 'home town' Terre Haute, IN to the Pacific ocean, would bring with it not only self-discovery, but the discovery of everything I'm missing out on outside of the few square miles I occupy on a daily basis. Being an overnight gas station attendant has its perks, but I need to find the change. My friend Kayla has decided to join me and I couldn't be more excited!

This project is a documentary/experimental film, with an original score. Since filming won't begin until our journey has started, even we are unsure what all this feature-length will entail. What we do know is that there will be good times, bad times, things you see everyday, and those that you haven't as well. The overall goal is that we wish to enlighten you as we enlighten ourselves.

This walk is also dedicated to my grandmother. A few years ago a mistake was made after surgery leaving her in a month-long coma, and as a result, she can no longer walk more than a few feet. She is stuck in the same bed, looking out of the same window at the same curve in the same road everyday. He doesn't want that for her, or anyone else
 
We will be documenting the journey to share with anyone willing to experience it with us! We have set the date of departure for April 8, 2013, six days after my 22nd birthday, giving us time to save money and prepare our bodies for the trip.
 
As a result, we will be curating a film with an original score to bring to you the vastness of life itself in the comfort of your own home.. and hopefully spark something inside of you. That's where we need your help! Regardless of reaching our goal on Kickstarter, it will happen.
 
-- We would spend the $7,500 to bring to you a film designated to introduce you to (or maybe change your point of view) the planet, its people, and all things in between. Money would be spent on equipment needed for the walk, along with the technology needed to give you an appropriate-quality-full-length take on our journey, while keeping you updated the entire way!

Risks and challenges Learn about accountability on Kickstarter

We will be traveling from Terre Haute, IN to Santa Monica, CA entirely on foot. If you're anything like our family, you'll probably picture us: hungry, lost, cold, stabbed, shot, or even raped (not necessarily in that order). Danger is around EVERY corner.

We will be facing equal challenges from crossing a raging river, to coaxing our way out of being kidnapped. Beginning October 10th, we have started a strict diet/exercise regimen, eventually carrying a 50lb vest, walking miles of inclines.

We both possess stunning street-smarts (See: from Terre Haute), and naturally have a keen sense on avoiding danger. At the least, we're lucky!
