NIGHT OF THE PUNKS is a fun, gooey, slimey, gory 80's throwback horror flick about a punk band that plays an out of town show at a venue overrun by demons, where they are to be the human sacrifice. It's going to be really great, a lot of very talented people are working on it, I'm courting some bigger actors, and trying to find some extra money (its currently 100% self-funded by me and my savings account) to help cover some costs.
Essentially, I am seeking some funding for my CRAFT SERVICES & FOOD BUDGET. When you're shooting an indie short, working with actors and crew on either the super cheap or for free, keeping them happy and well fed is priority #1. Anyone who's worked on a set knows this. I pride myself in a good craft service because its the best thing you can do to keep everyone on task and working hard. I'm not asking for strangers to pay for me to make my movie or provide my total budget (I believe in paying for my work myself)... just to help feed a bunch of struggling, hard working actors and young filmmakers who'll be working with me on this movie. The money pledged will be used 100% for food/craft services on this movie. If there's any left over, I'll use it to buy the cast/crew some goodies when we wrap the shoot!
For some perspective, on my last short DOWNSIZED I spent a little under $700 on craft services. The film shot in 4 days, had a 6 person cast and a minimal crew of less than a dozen people. This new short will shoot for 6 days at least, have double the cast and probably double the crew.
I'll be happy to send a copy of the script to any interested backers.
