I have been offered the opportunity to do a one month residency at the Vermont Studio Center this upcoming summer.

Why this residency is important for me as an artist:

This residency will not only afford me the time and space to pursue ideas but will also allow me to begin a strong new body of work. I plan on using this time to not only explore and investigate my own work but to also use the creation of this work as a means of continuing a conversation about art work, its presence in our lives and how it can be used to build strong connections within communities. This residency and the beginnings it will facilitate will serve as a platform for further career achievements. 

Why this residency is important for me as a human being:

Often, many of us find ourselves quickly moving through life, going from job to job, job to home, home to practice with a little bit of love and little bit of traffic in between. And because of this we, myself included, don't often take the time to evaluate our lives, to take stock of the choices made thus far and to get quiet enough to decide if where we are headed is where we want to go. This residency will allow me the time and space to do just this.

Why this residency is important for "YOU" as a supporter:

This residency and the support needed will allow you as a supporter to take part in a level of communication that does not happen often within our contemporary culture. This exchange offers a unique experience for each of you. By supporting me you will be encouraging the presence of handmade artwork in your lives, enriching your experiences with creativity, which will in turn strengthen the arts community as a whole.

Donations are essential for my success during this residency in Vermont. All donated funds will provide essential materials for my art making practice such as clay, glazes, firing expenses, metal, wood, paper, ink, documentation tools, art shipping costs, research expenses, and basic expenses.
