An exuberant satire exploring our cultural and universal thirst for wealth, recognition, and bygone precocity.
...The heavy gates of an elite New York City junior high swing open to reveal the surreal education of four future titans: sex, money, and the Ivy League are all within grasp--if only they can live long enough to graduate..
Horrible Truths of the Ruling Class is a witty and anarchic look at just why exactly, and just how exactly, powerful people suck so much, are so wretched, unstoppable, magnetic, and wonderful.
Beginning with the insight that everything terrible in the world begins in junior high, HTRC recreates that toxic primordial sludge at the exact moment when astral lightning strikes and initiates the crystalline ladder-dance of life. It is TOTALLY funnier than abiogenisis, though!
Humor is the ultimate mediation between classes. With this in mind, HTRC can be seen as a love letter to the moneyed elite, because our love is excruciatingly acerbic and who writes love letters anymore?
HTRC is a satire on precocity.
HTRC is a satire on precocity, on the premature matriculation of young people. Artificial maturity routinizes ambition, cynicism, and amorality—exactly the ingredients that make "the modern condition" an unattractive menu item.
Horrible Truths of the Ruling Class is a co-production with Incubator Arts Project located in the historic St. Marks Church in the Bowery.

This is a project that began as simple sketches at Upright Citizen's Brigade and has evolved into something that we believe can be big, hilarious and meaningful on a few levels. We're working every day to make it special.
In our short history, Three Sciences has grown accustomed to devising work in rehearsal through collage and found texts. While we maintain this energy of discovery, satisfying the vision of a pre-existing text is a new and exciting challenge for us as a group.
It's also why we're asking for your support.
This project requires production values and rigorous preparation that are ambitious for a young company.
Our primary expense is securing rehearsal space. While we will and do rehearse anywhere, from bedrooms to hotel lobbies, designated space allows us to craft our piece with precision and eventually execute it with confidence.
The rest of our budget and your contribution will allow us to buy lumber to build our set, material to build costumes, and to compensate the crew & designers for their hard work.
Please consider making a contribution, big or small. It would mean a/the world to us. Many thanks.
