Roosevelt Diggs is a West Michigan Folk / Americana band heading into the studio in January to record their album "American Folklore".
Roosevelt Diggs is a 4 piece Folk / Americana band from the West Michigan area. We will be going into the studio this January to record our first EP titled American Folklore. The album will contain 6 songs, each one is based around a character from classic tall tales and American Folklore. The album will include: Pecos Bill, John Henry, Paul Bunyan, Rip Van Wrinkle, Johnny Appleseed, and Casey Jones
The stories from these famous characters have been told millions of times around campfires from the northern shores of Maine to the southern deserts of California and everywhere in between our great country. In the fast paced world we live in today, it's difficult for our culture to embrace stories and characters the way we did in the past. We are attempting to preserve these great American characters and stories in a time where they could be lost.
The artwork for the album is being created by our good friend, Ed Wilder. The album artwork will be printed up in children's book style, complete with illustrations and the lyrics from each character's song. Ed is an amazing artist and his contribution to this project is priceless.
This project has been in the works for our band for over three years. All the songs are written and arranged and the only thing needed now is to head into the studio to capture some good recordings.
