T.J. Collins is an award-winning filmmaker with over 11 years of experience winning awards and honorable mentions for his films. Through his production company Poseidon Production he produced his first feature film in 2009 titled "Willets Point" serving as the writer and director. The film won the Audience Award and several major nominations at the 12th annual Long Island International Film Expo.
Mr. Collins has served as a peer judge for the 2007 New York Emmy awards and is a member of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences New York Chapter.
In addition he was a founder and executive director of the Long Island Latino International Film Festival from 2004-2009. In this capacity Mr. Collins was responsible for the festival production and selection of films both domestic and international for over 5 years. He is a NALIP Producers Academy and Writes Lab Fellow 2009. Other member affiliations would include the IFP, Film Independent, and the Long Island Film Foundation.
Because of Mr. Collins's involvement in the film industry he has been interviewed on television and print media such as ABC TV, NBC TV, Newsday and the New York Times. Mr. Collins is planning to shoot his next completed feature screenplay titled
"Eli Moran" in the fall of 2011.
