Over the past five months I have been working hard to create an illustrated cookbook of my favorite Latin American dishes. The book is ready!
Help me produce a high quality cookbook with a handmade appeal. I have hand lettered every page, and each recipe features a unique style, layout and my original watercolor artwork.
The cookbook will be hardcover, 8.5 x 11, printed on premium 100#GSM paper and produced in the USA. If you pre-order through kickstarter, the cookbook will be sent to you in mid December, just in time to give to a foodie, art enthusiast, or traveler for the holidays in the US.
This collection features many of my favorite dishes, desserts, and drinks from Latin America; tamales, ceviche, empanadas, flan and many more favorites from countries including Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador, and Puerto Rico. I’ve also included lots of pages about Latin American ingredients that are less common outside of the US including prickly pear, yuca root, and epazote.
The book also includes an overview of Latin American cheeses available in the US, and pages describing various methods of chili preparation, how to prepare cactus, and tips for frying foods. I have also devoted a page to my favorite tools in the kitchen; things that will make cooking this cuisine more efficient and more fun.

will send your package by USPS priority mail, which promises a 6-10 day
delivery. I can't guarantee it will get to you by the holidays, but

Risks and challenges Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
The biggest risk I face is not getting my book produced by mid December.
The printing takes 10-15 days, I will go to print right after the Kickstarter campaign finishes and trust that printer delivers the books in the promised time frame. I plan to ship the books the first week of December.
As of now scanning of the pages is underway, I have the duration of the Kickstarter campaign to complete this task in addition to finishing the index of the book. I am confident I can do these two things. Ready, set, go!

The first edition of Comida Latina: An Illustrated Cookbook is being produced using a professional 4 color process; the hardcover is made of a sturdy, 98pt binders board that is image wrapped with a rich, colorful, matte polypropylene laminate (in layman's terms: it is solid, bright, and looks fabulous). The book is 104 pages long, (twice as long as my original goal) & is being printed on quality 100lb matte paper, nestled between saffron-colored endsheets and bound using a quality smyth sewing technique, which allows the pages to lie flat when the book lays open.
