About this project
Led Zeppelin 5 (yes, you read correctly) is a new collection of songs by LA's the black watch ... the dream-popsters who sport quite a discography and loads of critical acclaim. This record is all about now (mixed with a little then) and the world needs to hear it! KCRW's been spinning "Like in the Movies" already and we all know they have good taste, don't we?
We want to release the CD, hire a publicist and tour and we'd love your help to make that happen!

Formed in Santa Barbara in 1987 by English Literature Ph.D. John Andrew Fredrick, the black watch (always lower case, in order to differentiate the band from the Scots regiment it's named after!) have made 16 CDs of amazingly catchy, literate, dreamy-then-whimsical psychedelic/folky-droney-poppy indie pop. As Trouser Press (truly, the Bible of indie rock) notes, "It's astonishing that a band this dedicated to craft and quality as California's the black watch could go for two decades with a following the size of a kitchen sponge! The band's melodic music tweaks the mind as much as the heart, and is remarkably consistent, worth searching out by more than just epicures of obscurity."
