Hi, my name is Gail Standish Ward and I have written a book of poetry entitled "The Scrapbook of Miss Gail Standish Ward" and that is just what it is, a book of my literary scraps which I have scrawled out and collected over the past year.  I think the subtitle should probably be, "I really want you to read this, I have no idea where it came from."

Do you remember being asked to write a poem in English class? Yikes! I love writing and am excited to get my work out there, but I've also been a teacher for 20+ years so there is another element to the book. In the scrapbook I'll walk you through some simple and fun exercises designed to take the fear part out of writing and give you permission to just write.

The second major element of my project will be a series of writer's workshops  held in homes and local bookshops all over.  My idea is to support local bookshops while providing a chance for a bunch of people to laugh and relax and just write.

But I need your support to launch this project. There is little money in being a poet, I have faced that, but we need to have a place of permission to flat out tell it, don't you think? Help me bring that to spots near you and other folks who love books and writing. 

All the money raised will go toward :

• Professional photography and graphic design - $1,520 
• Professional PR video shoot - $600
• PR rep fees - $2,900.
• Copyright and LCCN fees - $125.
• Initial order of books for PR and workshops - $425.
• Limited edition of books hard-bound in artist's canvas - $1,250
• Initial order of PR posters and cards - $130.
• Initial tour travel expenses - $2,000.
• The things I know I forgot to include  - $ 550.
• My work to send your rewards - $0.
• SUBTOTAL = $ 9500 
• Kickstarter and Amazon together take 10% - $950.
• TOTAL = $10,500.

Please remember, folks, - this is an all or nothing kind of deal. If I don't raise all of it, I get none of it! (in which case no one's credit card gets charged)  

And that is where the scary and the faith come in.
