Blackheart bagels are hand rolled then classically boiled and baked. We use minimal yeast and rely on long, cold rises to develop an authentic flavor. This artisanal process takes 24 hours from start to finish. These bagels have five simple ingredients: flour, water, yeast, salt and malt syrup. Beginning May 3rd, we will be selling bagel sandwiches at the Buckman Farmers Market in southeast Portland, Oregon. We’ve developed a menu below that focuses on local, hand crafted ingredients.
