Business Week stated that 2.6 billion dollars’ worth of wrapping paper is discarded every year in the US. Billions, that is unimaginable, and yet I like you, had no idea of this destruction. How many forests get clear-cut to make us wrapping paper that we discard in 5 minutes? This practice of unknowingly wasting the world’s natural resources, its’ forests, the habitats of endangered species, the world’s cheapest filter for greenhouse gasses has to stop, now that we are aware.

ScrunchieWrap is an alternative to this incredibly wasteful, time-consuming hassle of wrapping gifts in wrapping paper. ScrunchieWrap is a fabric cinch pouch. It is both beautiful, and easy to use - and reuse year after year. After years of use, ScrunchieWrap is also 100% recyclable, (unlike bow and adhesive tape laden wrapping paper).

Many women will recognize ScrunchieWrap’s fabric as it evolved from blouses so it is both durable and washable. This fabric treatment allows ScrunchieWrap to expand over four times its initial size to accommodate a gift of almost any geometry.

ScrunchieWrap is no longer just an idea. I have received a patent on the product and a trademark on the ScrunchieWrap name. Last year, I introduced ScrunchieWrap as a limited offering and although we still have a few left on our website, I have now simplified and improved the design. This limited launch allowed me to learn what consumers and retailers want and . . . .

• I need to purchase patterned fabric at $10,000 per minimum for each pattern.
• I need to purchase well designed packaging to display ScrunchieWrap in retail stores.
• ScrunchieWrap is currently made 100% by hand. Automation will allow us to dramatically reduce production costs to allow competitive pricing.
