WIP - Paladin
Here is a WIP of the Green for the Dwarf Paladin. We are excited about how it is coming along.
Keep in mind, this is a WIP, a few things might change to facilitate casting or if Mike continues to over-analyze it.

Several of these Dwarves have a "Steampunk" feel to them: the Witch - with the modern hair style and meat cleaver weapon, the Mechanist - with the monocle and wind-blown Teddy Roosevelt coiffure, the Bard - with the mandolin poised to rip a riff while he wears a pair of boots Peter Criss of KISS would be proud to wear and now - The Highwayman. But, with the additional hands option now available for the Highwayman (and hopefully with a foldable hand crossbow option soon to follow) all of them can now work in nearly any fantasy realm - be it Pathfinder, D & D or the Steampunk RPG Iron Kingdom. GREAT!
Creator Darsc Zacal on July 13, 2012
Kudos to Stonehaven for their resolution of the Highwayman debate. Well done Sirs! Not only will it satisfy just about everyone, but you've just sold and additional 2 minis to people like me who'll want all three varients in their collections.
.
Well played indeed!
: )

I was concerned about the same thing. The gun threw me off and I would hate to have to alter something so perfect. Maybe a knife of gun in the same pack?
Creator ASH LAW on July 13, 2012
@Stonehaven I should point out that I like the highwayman and if this set had been "steampunk dwarves" it would have fit perfectly. As it is if I put the minis on the table as part of a game I'd have to leave the highwaymen out. Is there an option to get a variant highwayman with a knife instead of a gun, or to swap out the highwayman for a duplicate of one of the basic 5?
Creator William Seppeler on July 12, 2012
@Stonehaven, thanks for listening. It appears there's quite a variance in your fan base. Your job is a tough one trying to please as many folks as possible. It's greatly appreciated that you listen to your fan base. Thank you for that.
I should point out that I do love the Highwayman as the concept is portrayed. I just didn't like the deviance from primitive weapons. To each their own I guess. I'm just being a stickler. However, if Steampunk Dwarfs were the focus from the start, that HIghwayman would be da bomb!
Creator Stonehaven Miniatures on July 12, 2012
Just going to mention over in this thread as well, that we are looking to address some of the concerns with the highwayman in out next update.
Creator Michael Russell on July 12, 2012
The highwayman is exactly as he should be, that is the piece I backed to get.
Creator Mitchell Shepard Kramer on July 12, 2012
Also even if you decide to keep the firearm (Which is totally up to you!) please please please! have him at least hold it upright. He's a Highwaymen not a hoodlum.
Creator William Seppeler on July 12, 2012
I take that back. Instead of changing weapons around with the minis, I completely agree with ASH. Just remove the gun from the Highwayman, but keep the pose. Instead of pointing a gun, have the Highwayman crouched with his hand up to shield his eyes. As if he's spying on his prey. I like the other arm back brandishing a sword ready to attack.
Creator William Seppeler on July 12, 2012
@ASH, now that you've mentioned it, I completely agree. The presence of a gun is clearly out of place. Even the Mechanist is armed with a primitive weapon. That Highwayman really is the odd one in the crew. Almost as much as the bearded skeleton (errr...Undead) and that rock star pose of the Bard. They just don't seem to fit.
I like the pose of the Highwayman. I think it would be better if the Highwayman was taking aim with a crossbow. Then update the Mechanist to have a weapon suitable for his trade.
Creator ASH LAW on July 12, 2012
Urgh - just saw the Highwayman. Any chance of no gun, or getting a double of another mini instead of the highwayman?
Creator Víctor Jota on July 11, 2012
Amazingly expressive for a still figure!

@Darsc, Mike in his awesomeness let us make suggestions for the Mega minis... and then listened!
William Seppeler wrote in the comments, " How about instead of undead, there be a fallen Dwarf King. Instead of fallen as in dead and now a walking corpse, you have a King that has fallen from grace and is now lost. Presumed dead and now wanders as a vagabond in search of his former glory. His garment would be the tatters of a noble suite of armor. A broken crown hidden in the tangle of overgrown hair. The deep stare of a wise man who's mind has left this world."
I imagine it is going to be along the lines of that :D
Creator Charles Bateson on July 11, 2012
@Darsc - William Seppeler posted a comment a few days ago suggesting "a King that has fallen from grace and is now lost. Presumed dead and now wanders as a vagabond in search of his former glory. His garment would be the tatters of a noble suite of armor. A broken crown hidden in the tangle of overgrown hair. The deep stare of a wise man who's mind has left this world." I presume that this will be the Shattered Noble. It's probably the mini I'm waiting most impatiently for :-)
Creator Petter Wäss on July 11, 2012
Rather static, isn't it? Still pretty though.
Creator Darsc Zacal on July 11, 2012
I'd been wondering about that term Shattered Noble. Is that a reference that I'm missing? Does it mean something along the lines of a fallen king, or am I totally on the wrong track?
Creator Matthew Meyer on July 11, 2012
Glorious!!! I can't wait for this! :-D I am going to have to build myself a 28mm scale Dwarven stronghold to accommodate your awesome minis!
Creator Cerity "baux pens" Silverhawk on July 11, 2012
I agree, it looks incredible.
There's 2 weeks to go. Has there been any art of the last stretch goals, Highwayman, or Shattered Noble??
Creator Darsc Zacal on July 11, 2012
Now THIS is what I've been waiting for. I'm very excited on how well the paladin is shaping up!
.
Props and congrats to Mike for showing he has the sculpting skills to bring those concept drawing to life... Well to pewter miniatures anyway. ; )
Creator Ian Markon on July 11, 2012
