About Perils of the Surface World
A lost civilization in need of a miracle. A frozen city harboring a terrifying secret. An ancient legacy best left undisturbed. A crime lord determined to rule half the world.
Hollow Earth Expedition: Perils of the Surface World compiles four adventure scenarios that span the globe and deliver a walloping punch of pulp-era adventure. Your characters will battle Nazis in the tropical jungles of Brazil, unearth monsters in the frigid wastes of Antarctica, unravel mysteries in the catacombs beneath Venice, and contend with martial arts masters in the back alleys of Shanghai. Each of these scenarios can stand alone or may be added into existing campaigns, linked together with each other, or used to open the way to further adventures inside the Hollow Earth.
Perils of the Surface World also delivers new resources for Gamemaster, including optional rules for martial arts super-powers, Atlantean sorcery, supernatural terror, and more. Add these tools to your kit to adapt and expand your adventures and your characters in these or your own stories!

Why We Need Your Help
People have been requesting official Hollow Earth Expedition adventures for a long time, so we heeded the call and started producing low-cost electronic versions. But experience has shown that more people prefer printed copies than electronic versions, so we want to collect all four Perils adventures into a printed book. And that’s where you come in. Print runs are not cheap, but with your help we can make this project happen. Eventually, we’d like to release a softcover copy to the general public, but all Kickstarter backers at the Adventurer level and above will receive a Limited Edition, hardcover version. Plus, there are a bunch of other great rewards too. So please take a look at them and consider pledging your support.
Stretch Goals
$8K: New Cover. To keep production costs down, we reworked a portion of the Secrets of the Surface World cover for Perils of the Surface World. If we reach our first stretch goal, we’ll commission a new and original cover for the book.
$12K: B&W Sample Characters. If we reach our second stretch goal, we will create four new B&W sample characters for Perils of the Surface World (one for each adventure) and include them in the book.
$15K: Color Sample Characters. If we reach our third stretch goal, we will publish the full color versions of the sample characters online for everyone to use.
