About this project

Well, it's been a while since the release of our last album, Going to California, and, after living in America for the last few years and raising a couple of rowdy kids, we are ready to get back in the studio and make some music! We've got Grammy booked in for the kids, and we are wanting to go into Buzz Cason studio with our good friend Ken Coomer, former Wilco and Uncle Tupelo drummer, as producer.

We have amassed a selection of songs we are proud of and are looking to make a somewhat dark, piano led, Gene Clarkey, folky, nose dive into misery, hope and redemption. We really hope that if you've liked our style of music in the past, that you'll trust us to come up with the goods again. We are singing together better than ever and with the help of some of Nashville's finest, we feel we can make our best album yet.

In case you don't know, the way Kickstarter works is that you pledge funds to a project you want to support and in return, you get cool rewards! It is all or nothing funding, so if a project doesn't reach it's funding goal by the deadline then it doesn't get funded.

Our goal is $20,000. The money will cover production costs, including musicians, engineer and producer fees, studio hire, tape, mixing and mastering, with about 10% going to Kickstarter and Amazon. If we go over the $20,000, then we will spend more on things like artwork and design and the like, but rest assured all of your generous pledges will be spent on making this an album you'll treasure.

Check back with us - we'll be posting updates letting you know what we're up to. In the meantine, come visit us on Facebook or our website: www.thearlenes.com

THANK YOU!!!
