Update #10: Home again
Hello all!
Yet again time had flown and this time it has taken me all the way home again. I am just getting settled back into life in Massachusetts. Today was the first day I didn't wake up according to the European sunrise!
I did a post about my exhibition. You can find it here: http://www.jessgreenestudio.com/blog/2011/11/14/la-fragua-home-exhibition.html
The whole experience has really launched me forward and I feel the momentum as I gather supplies and re-setup my studio here at home. I'm looking forward to producing new work and moving forward.
I still have to finish unpacking and order prints for those of you I owe them to, but they are coming...as well as the originals I owe some others of you.
Thank you again for your support for me in this incredible opportunity.
Cheers, Jess
Update #9: Time is moving faster now
Hola!
I can't really believe that the last update I wrote gave you the link to the first blog post of my residency, because already now I only have a week left. And I very busy week. My exhibition is already up and this week I will be teaching a two-afternoon encaustic workshop for some local people. I haven't yet posted about the exhibition and will notify you when I do, but I have been posting every couple days so if you have not checked out my blog, please do.

Update #8: First blog post
Just a quick update to say that I wrote my first blog post about my residency. Lots more to come about the space, my art, and what I have been thinking about...but for now this is a feast for the senses. Enjoy!

Update #7: At La Fragua!
Hello from Spain!
My husband, Ben, and I had a wonderful three weeks of traveling around Ireland, Scotland, England, Paris, and Spain. I have been blogging during our trip and have many wonderful photos and more coming. I am a little behind and have a couple more posts before catching up.
Today is my first full day here at my residency. I got my electrical units today for heating the wax and set up my studio space at the convent. It is a beautiful space and the people here are wonderful. I feel extremely blessed and grateful...especially to all of you.
Unfortunately the supplies I sent ahead from London did not go ahead...in fact they seem to be quite behind. They have not yet arrived so I am without most of my supplies. I have ordered wax and it is coming in the next day or two so I will begin to paint then and hopefully everything else will follow.
Please follow along on my blog and I will post more here on Kickstarter too.
Gracias! Jess

Update #6: Leaving tomorrow!
We are leaving for our adventure tomorrow! Very excited. Currently my hot palette is on and I am slowly removing the brushes from the wax as it heats up and capping the tins for travel.
My husband, Ben, and I will be traveling around Europe for three weeks before my residency starts. October 9 is when I will arrive at Belalcazar and start my residency. Move updates are coming!
Make sure to stay in touch via my blog too. http://www.jessgreenestudio.com/blog/

In 2008 I went to an art retreat and it changed my life. I had always loved art and design, but had followed other passions on a less risky path to teach science. I had started to read artist and crafting blogs and a little voice inside me started to whisper of painting. So I went to take three painting workshops and got a whole new outlook on dreams and possibility.
Fast forward to 2012 and I quit teaching science, painted in Spain for a month, started teaching art workshops, and am elbow deep in running Seek Your Course.
Seek Your Course is a website designed to inspire adults to be creative again. The site features a directory of creative retreats, conferences, workshops and ecourses posted by the 130+ instructors that are registered on the site.
