In 2008 I went to an art retreat and it changed my life. I had always loved art and design, but had followed other passions on a less risky path to teach science. I had started to read artist and crafting blogs and a little voice inside me started to whisper of painting. So I went to take three painting workshops and got a whole new outlook on dreams and possibility.
Fast forward to 2012 and I quit teaching science, painted in Spain for a month, started teaching art workshops, and am elbow deep in running Seek Your Course.
Seek Your Course is a website designed to inspire adults to be creative again. The site features a directory of creative retreats, conferences, workshops and ecourses posted by the 130+ instructors that are registered on the site. The SYC Blog features book recommendations, interviews and other inspiring material.
Yay, you've met your goal!!! I'm so excited for you! Wishing you well on your adventures, can't wait to see what you create. :)
Much love,
Jenny
Congratulations on your acceptance to this residency! I love the house painting theme, and Henri Nouwen's work has been inspirational to me too. I'm honored to help you get to your goal, and look forward to seeing the results of it. -- Rosie
Jessica, this is awesome. The place looks amazing and I am looking forward to seeing the fruits of your creativity there. -- Melinda
