After a devastating fire, we are rebuilding our furniture studio to produce designer furniture that is more accessible and affordable.
Last fall my furniture studio in Carbondale, Colorado burnt down. The cause is still unknown; the 100+ year old building housed over $100,000 in equipment and handmade furniture. My hope is that from the ashes of this tragedy a new opportunity will arise. I've been a furniture maker for over 15 years now, and my desire is to bring the same quality and aesthetics of my custom, hand-made furniture to a line of products in order to make my pieces more affordable. I plan to shift my operations to producing a line of products in addition to making custom furniture in order to offer furniture that is more accessible.
WHAT THE FUNDS WILL GO TOWARDS:
The goal of my Kickstarter project is to set up production capacity for my products. I am hoping to outfit my new studio with new equipment and fix up some of the used equipment we have purchased, so that my team and I can start producing again. All in all, we need around $100,000, and what we raise on Kickstarter will go directly toward the acquisition of the needed equipment. My community had an art auction a couple months ago and I have raised a considerable amount of money through grant writing, but I’m still a long way off from full-scale production. Fifteen thousand is the bare minimum needed to produce the rewards we are offering on Kickstarter. The more we raise, the closer I'll be to the dream.

WUD Plates
TheWud Plate series is functional table art that draws from Danish modern design. Each plate is formed from a solid piece of wood. Treehouse Stools
The Treehouse stool’s lines are meant to reflect those of the forest. The dark Claro Walnut and ebony details keep the stool understated. Originally designed for a treehouse, the timeless design will work in any setting.
Curva Sofa and Chair - 1, 2 and 3 seaters
The Curva Sofa design blends arching forms in upholstery and wood. The lines of the sofa are clean, somewhat reminiscent of Danish design, but speak as a piece designed in 2012. Swooping Clara Walnut arms gracefully frame the upholstered body of the sofa. Seat height can be specified between 15” and 19”. Available in many different upholstery options.
The 2 seater is shown here. The basic design stays the same for all three sizes. The design get narrower or wider if you would like the 1 or 3 seater. We can make this piece for you a a range of fabric choices.
Lego Table
Like the polished core revealed when a geode is cracked open, Lego is a geometrically-shaped table that has been split open, in concept, to reveal it’s multicolored core. The top is an acrylic painting that has been sanded and sealed for durability. Lego’s legs are up cycled from old school chairs.
The Artichoke Table
The Artichoke Table was designed to represent an organic form that has been split to reveal its core, in this case the cross section of an artichoke. The body of the table is made from shop-molded plywood, faced with exceptional Zebrano veneer, and shaped to form the elliptical shell. Cocobolo legs are mortised into the shell to make this table heirloom quality. The acrylic painting on the top of the table has been sanded flat and treated to act as a durable tabletop.
