Yes, that's right! Sideshow takes on two larger-than-life productions back-to-back this summer so you can stay up late and play all night! With more audacity and gusto than an angry chihuahua, we bring you the world premiere of The Gacy Play by Calamity West, and the U.S. premiere of Idomeneus by Roland Schimmelpfennig!
First in our summer line-up is The Gacy Play, opening June 28, 2012 at Theater Wit. It's Christmas, 1975 in suburban Chicago, and John Wayne Gacy, Jr. is a man with secrets beneath his floor. Sideshow delves deep into the mind of one of America's most notorious killers in this chilling world premiere.
Right on its heels is Idomeneus, opening at the Department of Cultural Affairs Storefront Theater in the heart of downtown Chicago! This smash-hit play is a kaleidoscope of myth-making and monsters, a fractured story of the King of Crete brought to life with a massive cast and stunning theatricality.
This summer will be long, hot, and full of theatrical wonderment, but not without YOUR HELP! Producing two giant plays is a row is not an easy feat for a small storefront theater, and we need your help to raise additional funds for production costs and artists' hard-earned pay.
