Update #2: Empty Orchestra 7" Relase Date
Dear Friends,
As I type this message, we are proud to announce that the Empty Orchestra "Crooked Limbs" single is pressed and on its way to Michigan from Tennessee. The inserts are being printed in California, and both portions of the release will be assembled next week and shipped to all of you by Thanksgiving. This is exciting news!
As anyone who has ever engaged in a creative project can attest, sometimes things take longer than we originally anticipate. What we thought was going to be a little six-to-eight week record project turned into a four month ordeal that resulted in several hostile phone conversations and two rounds of rejected test presses. Boo to that. Fortunately for us (and all of you), the third time was the charm, and we're thrilled with the end result. We know you will be, too.
Please join us for the official, Flint Local 432-sponsored 7" release show on December 2nd at the Lunch Studio in downtown Flint with Making Friends and many others. We'll catch up and talk about how great it will be to have the Local back in our lives.
See you then.
xoxo,
Empty Orchestra
Update #1: Project Update: 7" Timeline
Sweet Sweet Benefactors:
First, we'd like to humbly thank you all for your kindness and generosity over the last few weeks. Our funded 7" project has kicked into high gear with Mark Michalik working on the final mixes of both tracks. Early next week, the tracks will be sent to United Record Pressing for plating and pressing. We're hoping to have the finished product back from the plant, packaged in mailers, and to your doorsteps by late August. Of course, we'll keep you posted with any/all developments.
Because we made a little extra money, we're investing the surplus back into the release. What this means is fancy(er) packaging and sweet(er) color vinyl options. This also means that we are able to pay Dave Kloc for creating the cover art. His immeasurable talents really came through this time around and we're overjoyed to be able to pay him instead of just hoping he'll give us some of his work for free (again). The insert will also be 6-panel, 4/4, and printed on exotic paper. It will also feature a die-cut window in the front cover. The first 100 will be split-color vinyl with alternate artwork. The other 200 will be randomly mixed color vinyl.
Again, we'll keep you posted with all relevant information as it becomes available. If you have any questions, chances are you know where Stephen lives and can come over for some conversation and exotic sodas. He'll probably talk to you about the release while you try to avoid being nose-raped by his wiener dog.
Thanks all.

Empty Orchestra is a band from Flint, MI. We play music that we understand as a kind of Americana; one composed of punk, blues, folk, and experimental musics. Since 2006, we've played all over the country, releasing all sorts of music in all sorts of ways. We've also met a lot of great musicians and friendly people along the way. We would like to continue doing this work with your collective help.
where do we send our address so that it can be delivered?
