Tourist is the latest album by Seattle alternative rock band Animals in Cars. Help us get it released on vinyl.
What it is?
Animals in Cars has recorded a new album called Tourist. We are raising funds to release it as a limited edition vinyl.
Our music has a heavy blend of precision punk and serpentine Sonic Youth-style riffs designed to soothe the tortured indie souls and this album does not disappoint.
In the spirit of punk rock we have taken a D.I.Y. approach to this album by recording and mastering it completely on our own. Now we're reaching out to our fans, friends and family to help raise the funds to press this to wax!
Where's the money going?
The total cost of pressing the vinyl, cover art and packaging is an estimated $1400. Gathering the supplies for the various prizes and shipping them will cost about $100 and the Kickstarter + Amazon payments fees are 10% of whatever we raise, bringing the total cost of this project to around $1600-1700.
We would like to press 100 vinyl records through United Record Pressing. The records will be translucent blue, placed in white sleeves and then into jackets printed locally in Washington State with the images below:

This project is basically all or nothing, if we can't raise at least $1500, we can't afford to release this record in physical form (IF WE DON'T REACH OUR GOAL DON'T WORRY YOUR CARD WON'T BE CHARGED).
Aside from that we don't expect much in the way of production delays. The music is ready to hit the presses and producing the vinyl should take about 6 weeks to 2 months, and shipping it will take us week or two beyond that domestically (varies for international shipping).
