Our small Texas winery is working towards our first production run of 4,000 bottles of the honey wine known as mead.
Our project is the completion of a production run of 4,000 bottles of our traditional mead product. Funds raised will go towards an additional tank, the bottles, labeling and additional equipment necessary to get the bottles ready to sell online and to wholesalers.
With the unanticipated and extremely long (five month) approval process at the federal level, we will be in a scramble to make this production possible and cannot do it without some extra support from the communities that our winery will serve.

Kickstarter regulations prevent the giving of alcohol as a gift. They now have also stopped the giving of club membership or even tasting parties as rewards for contribution. So, we had to settle for giving away a bit of swag on the site in order to have our project approved. Join us on Facebook for more information as our project continues.

Until we progress into "step two" of our growth, we won't really be set up for tour scenario. Our Step One goal is to produce 12,500 bottles of mead in a year. At that point, we will utilize all the space we are currently finishing out. When we expand to double our output, we will then be in a position to seek a business park location or, possibly, one of the historic buildings in Old Town Bastrop. Then it is "game on". :D

With our federal permit approved, we are waiting to submit our paperwork for state approval. Assuming that process takes less time since we went federal first, our actual "open for business" timeline should be mid-November.
Once that happens, we will be ready to sell directly from our website as well as local liquor stores around Austin. We have been approached by Whip-In on Oltorf and I-35 to carry our label(s). We are also hopeful that a connection within Twin Liqours will set us up in many of their Austin and San Antonio outlets.Aside from that, you can stay tuned to our website. Once we start our festival campaign, you can find our booth at many Austin-area festivals including the Austin Celtic Festival and Pecan Street Festival. As we are a "Go-Texan" product, we should be able to graciously ride some Department of Agriculture coat tails and be present at the Texas State Fair in 2013 as well as their numerous statewide functions.
